Deals and M&As this week: Veritiv, Bockatech, Essel Propack

Veritiv has partnered with Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS) programme to provide quality sustainable packaging to their customers.The collaboration will allow Veritiv to provide in-house package design, testing, material analysis, and international sourcing capabilities in compliance with Amazon’s APASS certification directly to manufacturers, sellers and merchants.The Amazon’s packaging standards under the certification include Frustration-Free Packaging (FFP), Ships-in-Own-Container (SIOC), and Prep-Free Packaging (PFP).
Headquartered in Atlanta, US, Veritiv distributes packaging, facility solutions, print and publishing products and services.Bockatech and Borealis AG have entered a partnership to jointly produce lightweight foam injection moulding solutions.The reusable and recyclable foam injection moulding technology to be developed under the deal will help advance the circular economy of plastics.“The reusable and recyclable foam injection moulding technology to be developed under the deal will help advance the circular economy of plastics.”Based in Vienna, Austria, Borealis produces polyethylene and polypropylene products for packaging and automotive sectors.Based in the UK, Bockatech provides EcoCore™ technology for sustainable packaging.The promoters of Indian speciality packaging firm Essel Propack have entered negotiations with Amcor and Huhtamaki to sell a controlling interest in the company.The promoters currently hold a 57.19% stake in Essel Propack, a part of Essel Group.Essel Propack is involved in the production of laminated plastic tubes for the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and pharma sectors, through 25 facilities worldwide.Headquartered in Australia, Amcor produces flexible packaging, rigid containers, closures, and speciality cartons for various industries.Based in Espoo, Finland, Huhtamaki produces packaging for food, drinks and pharmaceutical products.
