PROCESAMIENTO DE UNA ESPUMA PLASTICA FORMULADA CON POLVO DE LLANTA.
The present invention relates to the processing of composite plastic materials or composite polymers and the physical recycling of automotive waste: tire dust. Also, it relates to a novel process, which consists of a) treatment of rim dust with microwave radiation extracting the oils, additives, and a part of the polymer that forms the rim dust reducing its particle size, and b) formulation and processing of the plastic foam, initially obtaining the rim powder a) mixed with azodicarbonamide, zinc oxide, luperox peroxide and EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) through a melt mixing process. Additionally, it processes the foam in a mold at a foaming temperature and pressure of up to 160°C and 25 tons. The results indicate that the microwave treated rim powder enhances the compatibility with the foam polymer, improving the dispersion thereof. Further, the tensile strength enriches up 1,425MPa to 2,233MPa, tension modulus from 1,588MPa to 4,597MPa, maximum elongation from 90.9% to 112.5%??, and yield stress from 1,525MPa to 2,241MPa. Finally, the present invention relates to the industry of processing and formulation of plastic compounds, recycling of waste generated by the automotive industry, the footwear industry, orthopedic material, and as a material used in the construction industry.
