Polyurethanes conference and trade show returns to Mexico City in 2019
Organizers of UTECH Las Americas, the region’s only polyurethanes conference and trade show, has announced its full speaker program for the upcoming conference at Centro Citibanamex, Mexico City, on April 10 to 12, 2019. The UTECH Las Americas conference will address industry trends affecting the region and surrounding NAFTA market area.
The program will cover topics related to automotive and construction applications; coatings, adhesives and sealants; elastomers; flexible and rigid foams; composites blowing; and release agents. Papers will also cover key industry themes including sustainability, machinery innovation and advances in polyurethane science.
Steve Burns, Vice President, Americas, Huntsman Performance Products—Polymers and Resins, will deliver the conference’s opening keynote address on April 10.
Papers addressing the use of polyurethane in the automotive sector include “Development of polyurethane foams in automotive under-the-hood applications” by Ernesto Roman Calderon, Technical Service and Development, Dow Chemical Co., and “TPU injection as an efficient alternative to cast molding in the automotive industry” by Rodrigo Chinen, New Business Development Manager, Lubrizol.
Papers about the circular economy include “Novel polyester polyols based on recycled PET” by Netza Lopez, Senior Account Manager NAFTA Region, Carpenter Co.
Alvaro Ballesteros, Technical and Development, Dow Chemical Co., will present two sustainability-themed papers at the conference: “Sustainable construction polyurethane as an enabling element of a faster, cleaner and energy efficient industry” and “Versatile, environmentally friendly formulations for compliance and performance.”
Held in conjunction with the conference, the UTECH Las Americas trade show connects suppliers and buyers from across the polyurethane industry for three days of networking, learning and prospecting new business opportunities. Exhibiting companies include both Mexican and major global names in the PU market including BASF, Cannon, Carpenter, Chromaflo, Covestro, Dow, Elastomeros Taza, Evonik, Grupo Valfer, Hennecke, Huntsman and Krauss Maffei.
UTECH Las Americas draws a broad range of polyurethane professionals representing the automotive, building and construction, furniture, footwear and insulation industries, among others, as well as specialized applications such as medical products.
