2019 PETnology Americas conference is 100% PET tech
Billed as the only conference specifically designed for PET packaging professionals, PETnology Americas 2019 convenes May 14-16 in Atlanta as a collaborative partnership of The Packaging Conference and PETnology. PETnology Americas has been designed for packaging industry professionals looking for a one-stop-shop for the latest innovations in technology, product launches and machinery designed to accelerate the PET industry.
Presented in June 2018, the first edition was marked by lively and controversial discussion along the PET packaging value chain with a special focus on sustainability and circular economy. The 2019 edition will take up this thread through exploring and debating new technologies and value-adding developments, and also stimulate discussion on future scenarios along with the various technological and strategic options for the PET packaging industry.
Increased aggressive sustainability goals are forcing the industry to take a closer look at recycling challenges related to stagnant collection rates in the U.S., creating a direct impact on the amount of available post-consumer recycled material needed to achieve these goals. The conference agenda was designed to address this concern, as well as address topics such as recycling challenges related to collection and processing, innovative resin development, machinery and technological advancements, packaging innovations in package design, as well as pushing the limits on preform and closures.
The conference offers multiple intimate networking opportunities for anyone working in the global PET industry in an effort to connect all facets of PET production and consumption within the packaging industry in a smaller setting.
Preliminary topics announced include Chemical Depolymerization presented by Hanna Begelman Sevsay, Market Development and America's Export Manager, KÖKSAN (Gaziantep, Turkey).
Sunder Rajan, Global Product Management – Labels, Klöckner Pentaplast (Montabaur, Germany), will be presenting on the company’s Eklipse light-barrier labels for sensitive products to replace non-recyclable barrier containers (shown top).
Corvaglia is producing digitally printed closures in the U.S. using IMDVista's Digital Printer. John Lambert, Technical Sales Manager, IMDvista (Brügg, Switzerland), and James B. Fisher, President and General Manager, Corvaglia Closures USA, Inc., (Newnan, GA) will co-present on the technology that can print full-color 720dpi closures at speeds of 1,500 caps per minute. By utilizing the latest in digital printing capability, multiple versions of artwork can be printed during the same production run that offers a cost effective per-cap solution to brand owners.
Registration is $1,350 until April 28th and then increases to $1,500 leading up to the event. It is again being held at the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center in Atlanta, May 14-16.
