Czech recycler Regra Plast plans 8,600tpa auto waste processing plant
Central Europe plastics processor Regra Plast, spol. S.r.o. is understood to be planning to expand its waste plastics recycling capacity in the Czech Republic.
The firm, which already recycles a range of polymers at Dobroměřice, near the Czech-German border, is reported to be ready to build a new plant east of the town of Louny at Obora.
Regra Plast has submitted plans for the 8,600 tonnes per year facility on the brownfield development site of a former farm for review by the Czech environmental authorities, according to industry media. These include a processing hall with three recycling lines and a 1,800m2 storage warehouse.
Regra Plast’s new operation, located close to its plastic moulding plant in Obora, is expected to take on a fresh production workforce of 18 with a further nine jobs being created for site offices and a laboratory.
It is scheduled to process polypropylene, polyethylene and ABS industrial plastics waste generated by the automotive sector, according to reports.
Apart from producing rough ground plastic waste for its customers, Regra Plast already turns out purer polymer regranulate in a range of recyclable plastics, primarily for injection moulding. Also, it can already process glass fibre reinforced composite polymer materials.
Another major offshoot of Regra Plast group, is Eureko which manufactures plastics PE and PP moulded construction roofing products formed from company recyclate material. It also operates from the main group site in Obora.
