Feddersen (Hamburg / Germany; www.kdfeddersen.com) has expanded its sales portfolio: the company announced that it is now also offering recyclate-based engineering plastics from Aurora Kunststoffe (Neuenstein / Germany; www.aurora-kunststoffe.de) on the European market. Feddersen explained to Plasteurope.com that the expansion of the product range is due to the fact that more and more customers are looking for alternatives to virgin materials. Demand comes mainly from the automotive sector, but also from the construction and textile industries.
Aurora Kunststoffe produces a large range of recyclate-based engineering polymers. These include grades such as polyamide 6.6, ABS and polycarbonate as well as POM or PPS. Depending on the product, these are available without fillers, and modified with advanced fillers, Feddersen states. Aurora recently expanded its product range to include recyclate-based polyphthalamide (PPA) compounds, which are produced using a new process developed in-house. Aurora primarily obtains its secondary raw materials from production waste and from the sprues of plastics processors. Since 2019, the Baden-Wà¼rttemberg-based company has belonged to the Hungarian MOL Group (Budapest / Hungary; www.molgroup.info), an oil and gas company.21.06.2021 Plasteurope.com [247869-0]
