Ulrich Reifenhäuser CSO About the Plastics Center (SKZ)
The Kunststoff-Zentrum (SKZ) provides independent services in the field of plastics technology for both the plastics industry and public sector clients. It was founded in Munich in 1961 and is now considered one of the largest industry-specific institutes of its kind in Europe, with worldwide monitoring of over 900 plastics products from more than 400 companies. The Board of Directors is the highest authority of the SKZ and makes important strategic and operational decisions. It is predominantly made up of representatives from the plastics-producing and plastics-processing industries, plastics machinery manufacturing and the skilled trades. The honorary members of the administrative board are elected in and by the FSKZ general meeting for four years. The board of directors coordinates the tasks of the association and ensures the execution of the resolutions of the general meeting. Among other things, it appoints the institute director and the managing directors of the SKZ companies.
