Australian largest PE and PP recycling plant chooses Amut
The Ecotech division of Amut has been awarded a contract to design and manufacture a plant destined to the largest Australian centre for post-consumer plastics recycling. The turnkey project includes two washing lines and a post-consumer polyethylene and polypropylene recovery facility within the framework of the Choir project of Pact Group and Cleanaway for the construction of a plastic waste recycling plant in Victoria to produce material which will be traded as Circular Plastic Australia.
The new facility is expected to process up to 24,000 tons/year of bottles, containers, tubs and non-packaging plastics made of HDPE, HDPE, PP grades in different colours. The two washing lines, with an output of 2,000 kg/h each, will be dedicated to clear HDPE containers and to colour HDPE or PP containers, respectively. Both washing lines will be able to process clear HDPE for food grade applications. The washing lines will guarantee the perfect removal of organic and inorganic contaminants and the separation of labels and glue in order to obtain high purity flakes. The plant will include a double stage friction washing system and is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2022.
