JEC World 2023, April 25-27, proved to be a success, from gathering together more than 40,000 composites industry professionals from more than 106 countries, to possibly experiencing “the single busiest [second] day at JEC,” as shared by CW brand vice president Jeff Sloan during the team’s
end-of-the-show recaps.
Post-show, CompositesWorld editors share key trends in materials, technologies and equipment seen on the show floor from well-established and newer companies alike. Some solutions were robust and proven in the industry, while others sought more progressive paths — either way, it’s agreed that they were all cutting-edge and support the ongoing advancement of the composites industry.
At a glance, some of the more obvious themes touched on sustainability (e.g., natural fibers/natural materials and recycling), hydrogen (e.g., Type IV tanks), advanced air mobility (AAM) and thermoplastics. These trends and more are highlighted in the following articles:
- : CW senior technical editor Ginger Gardiner addresses some of this year’s hot topics, ranging from novel biocomposites and recycling technology solutions from myriad startups to upgraded, but equally sustainable, equipment from well-established companies.
- : CW technical editor Hannah Mason recaps some of the technology on display at JEC World, including natural, bio-based or recyclable materials solutions, innovative automotive and renewable energy components and more.
- : CW brand vice president Jeff Sloan touched base with several booths highlighting sustainability, increasing carbon fiber manufacture capabilities, towpreg developments, automation or new business development announcements.
The CW team will also be publishing additional JEC highlights and video footage in the coming weeks on its
Youtube channel, and associated social channels.
