Turkish PU systems producer starts operations at production site in Dà¼czePU systems producer Kimteks Polià¼retan (Kimpur, Istanbul, Turkey; www.kimpur.com) has commissioned the first elements of the production lines at its new production site in Dà¼cze, Turkey. Primarily, these are the polyurethane systems that constitute the first phase of the expansion.Â

The total investment of just under EUR 15 mn includes a capacity of about 50,000 t/y for PU systems. In addition to this, there will be a recycling line with a nominal capacity of 5,000 t/y to process PET waste into polyester polyols and an EVA line with a nominal capacity of 10,000 t/y.
By the end of 2024, all plants are slated to be completed and in operation. According to Kimpur CEOÂ Cavidan Karaca, the material will be exported as well as supplied to the domestic market.Â

There was not enough space to expand Kimpurâ??s main plant in Gebze, which has a capacity of 120,000 t/y, so the company began to consider Dà¼cze as a second location. According to the company, the additional production is a significant step towards the targeted 200,000 t/y total capacity.
