AGC Vinythai Public Co. Ltd. Recently announced that its EPINITY® production site in Map Ta Plut, Thailand, has been certified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification system. Specifically, the site has been certified as producing bio-circular epichlorohydrin from bio-circular glycerine, which is classified as wastes/residues of biological origin following ISCCâ??s categories. This certified mass-balance approach ensures the sustainability and traceability of AGC Vinythaiâ??s bio-based epichlorohydrin (ECH).
ISCC is a multi-stakeholder organization established in 2010 to support the shift towards the circular economy and bio-economy. ISCCâ??s key pillars are no deforestation, traceability throughout the supply chain, feedstock identity, well-defined and third-party verified claims, transparent rules for mass balancing and physical segregation, a multi-stakeholder approach with a continuous dialogue, and protection of bio-diversity and high carbon stock areas.
â??ISCCâ??s key pillars for sustainability are very much in line with our approach since we started producing bio-based Epichlorohydrin in 2012. We appreciate the rigidity of this certification scheme and are pleased to offer EPINITY with the ISCC PLUS certification from our site in Map Ta Phut, Thailand,â? said Masayoshi Namba, business director, AGC Vinythai.Â
