Sustainability is at the forefront of SILBAERG Snowboard’s ethos. For years, we’ve been committed to innovations that reduce our environmental impact. Our efforts are evident through various measures such as utilizing bio-resins, integrating flax fibers in the Shreddomat from 2015 for vibration dampening, crafting longboards and balance boards from old snowboards, and reducing fiber waste by approximately 75% with Dry-Fiber-Placement for our Splitboard. But that’s not all – we’re taking it a step further and proudly introducing our new A.L.D.-tech.® HEMP Snowboards. These boards are made using Fuse Tape from Sachsenleinen, grown between Chemnitz and Leipzig. The tape is processed into A.L.D.-tech.® Hemp Preforms using Dry-Fiber-Placement technology. A.L.D.-tech.® Hemp is currently available in our
customized snowboards and in the
Shreddomat/
Shreddomata.
But our journey doesn’t stop here. We’re repurposing the remaining fiber waste from manufacturing Carbon-Preforms for our A.L.D.-tech.® Carbon and PRO Carbon boards into directional recycled carbon fiber nonwovens. These nonwovens are combined with hemp fibers in our A.L.D.-tech.® Hemp-rCF Preforms, currently being tested in initial boards with our team riders. These test boards also feature a new bio-based resin system, containing 31% bio-content in the resin and 54% in the hardener. Partner for this project are:
