David Baker was confirmed as chairman of the "Polyolefin Circular Economy Platform" (PCEP; www.pcep.eu). He succeeds Eugenio Longois (head of Sustainability and EU Affairs at Borealis), who has been chairman since the platform launched in 2016 ? see Plasteurope.com of 26.10.2016.
Baker is director of industry affairs at the RPC group, as well as active in the council of the British Plastics Federation (BPF) and chairman of both EuPC?s packaging division and the UK's Industry Council for Packaging and the Environment (Incpen) ? see Plasteurope.com of 17.09.2015. His experience in the plastic packaging industry totals over 35 years. Regarding his new role, he said, "My short term focus will be to support the PCEP steering board in its drive to expand its membership to include brand owners/EPR schemes, retailers and waste management companies in addition to producers, converters and recyclers.?
PCEP is a stakeholder platform that was launched by PlasticsEurope (Brussels; www.plasticseurope.org), EuPC (Brussels; www.plasticsconverters.eu) and Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE, Brussels; www.plasticsrecyclers.eu).
