European polyolefin recycling platform names new head

Value chain initiative polyolefin circular economy platform (PCEP) has appointed Venetia Spencer as secretary general, effective 2 Jan.

Venetia, the former head of the team of environment and energy consultants at BCW (formerly Burson-Marsteller) Brussels is experienced in “big picture policy” and the technical details of European and international regulations with regards to the environment, standards and waste, said PCEP on announcing the news 10 Jan.

“Polyolefins are… the most widely used family of plastics [and] they are fully recyclable. What we need now is to make sure they are reused or recycled, and to create a market for that recycled material,” she said upon accepting the position.

PCEP is a value chain initiative which aims to increase the reuse and recycling of polyolefin-based products and the use of recyclates as raw material.
