Strong growth for Petcore Europe

Petcore Europe, the Brussels-based association representing the entire PET value chain in Europe, has undergone a growth spurt during the first two months of 2019. The association has welcomed twelve new members since the start of the year and now boasts a membership of 63 individual members and six European associations.

The new members are Bandera, IFPEN - French Institute of Petroleum Energies nouvelles, Point Plastic, AFA Dispensing, Remondis PET Recycling, CUMAPOL, RETAL Industries, PepsiCo, Mitsubishi Polyester Films, Suntory, Digimarc and Finat, the association reported.

Looking back over the past fifteen months, the association has gained a total of 29 new participants, said Christian Crépet, executive director of Petcore Europe.

Petcore Europe aims to represent the complete PET value chain, from PET resin manufacturers, packaging designers and manufacturers, equipment manufacturers and label producers, to brand owners, EPR schemes, waste management organisations, recyclers and recycling machines manufacturers.

The strong growth in new members reflects the increasing importance attached by the industry to collaboration in the value chain.

“It is great to see that more and more key players of the value chain want to work together on a circular economy of PET within our association," said Crépet,
