Roof top tents made with flax reinforced composites

9 Apr 2019NaïtUp use Dehondt material to make a tent for car roof.

A tent for car roof made with flax reinforced composites

The biobased, lightweight and recyclable sandwich panel was developed to replace a heavier, non recyclable polyester fiberglass mat. To comply with eco-responsible specifications, NaïtUp used flax reinforcement and thermoplastic resin, with a core made of wood.

For the final customers, using composite material offers a lighter product, with good mechanical performance, eco-designed and recyclable. This composites application allows to be in perfect adequacy with the expectations of the final customers, followers of ecology and respect for the environment.

tente_husarde.mp4 The product presented is a structural biobased floor, with flax reinforcement, wood and thermoplastic resin. This composites panel is made on a continuous high pressure calendering impregnation line shaped on a cutting and finishing system. It integrates into the manufacture of a Hussarde tent on car roof. This tent has an innovative and patented filding kinematics, giving the product good pros.
