Plastribution launches sustainable polymers portfolio

Plastribution has launched what is being branded as the UK’s first portfolio of materials with more sustainable credentials.

The distributor, which is based in Ashby de la Zouch, has added a series of new materials to support customers as they look to achieve their own sustainability goals.

The new products will also support improved product design, including design for recyclability.

The range is split into seven different categories:

- Biodegradable and compostable polymers

- Water soluble polymers

- Bio-sourced polymers

- Circular economy grades

- Recycled and recyclability

- Renewable content polymers

- Reduce your carbon footprint

The portfolio is based on products delivered from about 20 different suppliers.

A dedicated sustainability team will be available to advise customers on material selection.

Commenting on the launch, Plastribution’s Mike Boswell said: “Releasing our sustainable materials initiative is all part of our value proposition by addressing the needs of our customers - they have asked us to provide our expertise and advice in this constantly-evolving area and we are responding with a comprehensive portfolio of products.

“We have a long and successful history of providing customers with unequivocal support including technical training and education - this is what sets us apart from other distributors.”

Plastribution is planning to hold an event in early 2020 which will offer attendees more information about the available products, with presentations from key producers.

The launch is part of the distributor’s 40th anniversary celebrations, which also included a related event at Coombe Abbey Hotel in Warwickshire.

The Jan/Feb 2020 issue of PRW magazine will include an interview with Mike Boswell and his team about the new sustainability portfolio.
