Elix Polymers joins Styrenics Circular Solutions
Spanish ABS (Acrylonitrile-ButadieneStyrene) compounder Elix Polymers has joined Styrenics Circular Solutions (SCS), an industry initiative to increase the circularity of styrenic polymers.
Elix is the first compounder to join the platform, alongside packaging group Coexpan, and materials companies Ineos Styrolution, Repsol, Total, Trinseo and Versalis (Eni).
“We are delighted that SCS continues to build its alliance along the value chain as we now extend a warm welcome to Elix Polymers,” said Nicolas Joly, President of SCS.
In 2020, said Joly, SCS aims to further the development and the scaling-up of recycling technologies, in addition to increasing the application options, into food contact for instance.
“Elix Polymers is fully committed to the SCS vision of harnessing the unique capacity of styrenics for recycling. Elix wants to be part of the transformation of our industry driving circularity for the styrenics value chain,” said David Castañeda, CEO of Elix Polymers.
Elix supplies ABS materials to a broad range of industries, including the healthcare, automotive, appliances and electronics sectors.
