Realignment of recyclate products / â??Rondoâ? to be launched globallyThe new brand name is to be introduced worldwide (Photo: Polykemi)Swedish compounder Polykemi (Ystad; www.polykemi.se) has announced plans to reorganise its brands. The main reason for the move is the pressure from the EU and the ever-increasing demand from the plastics-processing industry for recyclate materials, the company said. With reference to the word â??circleâ? in the circular economy, the brand name â??Rondoâ? is to be introduced worldwide.
In Scandinavia, the name Rondo has been associated with customised recyclate compounds for more than 40 years under the names â??REZYcomâ? and â??Reproâ? â?? standard products from company production unit Rondo Plast (Ystad; www.rondoplast.de), which makes engineering compounds based on recycled plastic granules for injection moulding and extrusion. The standard range covers PP, ABS, PBT, PA 6.6 and PC/ABS blends. â??Through a special process, it is also possible to supply the products in colour-matched black and dark to medium grey customised colours,â? says marketing manager Mattias Persson.
Polykemi has production plants in Europe, Asia and the United States. In the summer of 2020, the compounder built a new hall at its Chinese site in Kunshan that offers space for at least five more compounding lines with an additional capacity of over 10,000 t/y (see Plasteurope.com of 26.06.2020).17.12.2020 Plasteurope.com [246500-0]
