IKV postpones 31st International Colloquium Plastics Technology

“Back live again“ was the intended motto for the International Colloquium Plastics Technology on 16 - 17 March, 2022. The resumption of intensive face-to-face networking in Aachen was to have been at the focus of the event after the 2020 Colloquium had taken place in digital format because of the pandemic. However, in view of the current record figures as regards the Covid 19 pandemic, the organisers felt that staging the event was neither responsible nor realisable.

IKV has responded to these circumstances by postponing the Colloquium to 7 and 8 September, 2022. The International Symposium on Plastics Technology will also be postponed: in agreement with the co-organisers – the Polymer Processing Society (PPS) – IKV has decided to stage the Symposium on 5 and 6 September, 2022. Both events will take place in the Eurogress Aachen.

The items on the agenda for the events in September have already been planned: Alongside the programme of lectures, which, with plenary papers from renowned experts, will focus in particular on the present and future topics of circular economy, digitisation and hydrogen technology, the Colloquium will offer an opportunity to visit the IKV testing facilities and pilot plants as part of “IKV-360° live” and, with the accompanying industry trade show and Beer Colloquium, will provide an excellent occasion for networking and keeping abreast of the latest developments. The Georg-Menges Prize and the Reifenhäuser Sponsorship Award will also be presented in September during the Colloquium. For the Symposium, more than 90 submitted scientific papers from 14 nations promise an interesting and informative programme that will reflect the state of science in all areas of plastics research.
