K show daily edition | Oct. 19, 2022

For our first show daily from K 2022, we feature a variety of what to expect as you meander the show or read our coverage from afar.

We hear from CEOs about what to expect at this years show, with the headlining topics seemingly all looking at circularity, climate and recycling issues.

A joint briefing from Germany's three major plastics-based associations — Plastics Europe; the German Association of the Plastics Converters (GKV); and VDMA, the major German plastics and rubber machinery trade group was held on the eve of K 2022. The three groups discussed progress of their collaborative “We Are Plastics” initiative that has communicated the value of plastics and the transformation to a circular economy.

The plastics industry has been tasked with developing recyclable materials that can be reused as often and quickly as possible so their products won’t be equated with waste — and machine builders are on the front line of the effort.
