Tests confirm InoBat’s 31Ah Battery Offers a Groundbreaking Solution for the high-performance mobility markets

InoBat announces that its 31Ah pouch cell, developed for the high-performance mobility sectors, has passed the rigorous UN 38.3 cell testing by TUV and can be sent safely to customers. The bespoke design of the cell allows to significantly reduce charging time, while at the same time offering full performance for an extended period.

The cell has a class-leading gravimetric energy density of 328 Wh/kg in initial testing that is also able to withstand very high discharge rates with good temperature stability; this is provided in a small format pouch cell to assist with packaging where space constraints are at a premium. Production cells are expected to realize 340 Wh/kg through minor design and process optimization.

The results demonstrate a major advancement for customers in the high-performance mobility market by providing high levels of energy density with high power capability,” said Marian Bocek, CEO of InoBat adding that the company has a clear plan for research and development of future generations of the battery.

Recent testing by AnTek Certification shows that the E33 cell can sustain a 10C continuous discharge, which means it can deliver rapid acceleration. This will be optimum for high-performance automotive applications which demand high acceleration and power for long periods.

“Moreover, it can sustain such a high rate of discharge without overheating, and without creating hotspots, negating the requirement for specialized cooling systems. The cell cools down from its maximum temperature to room temperature within 30 minutes. That would make it perfect for premium sports cars,” added Bocek. Our test results also show that the E33 cell can be Fast Charged from 10% to 80% in 15 minutes, which is very important for the targeted applications and in line with the Fast Charge requirements of our customers and end users. This is achieved while keeping the cell temperature below 35°C, representing a massive advantage for safety and cooling efficiency.

This research is co-financed under the Important Project of Common European Interest scheme –  IPCEI EuBatIn. Which brings together 12 Member States and more than 40 companies to support national research, innovation efforts, and industrial pilot production within the complete battery value chain. InoBat has also received a grant from the Slovak government to support its R&D activities”
